The Priests House is absolutely perfect for all weddings
With such fabulous surrounding, it is like having your own private castle nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Not only will you appreciate the stunning backdrop, but you will have our exclusive, undivided attention and total privacy.
The House and Old Chapel have their own character. The House is perfect for wedding breakfasts up to 30 people, where the real fires, candles and original dark oak beams provide a really unique, medieval feel. The place oozes intimacy and charm whilst still retaining an element of rustic history and feel. The dining area originally being the balcony to the Old Chapel, was a meeting place for the local gentry who would have congregated for services many years ago.
Long deconsecrated, The Old Chapel had been stood empty, unloved and uncared for, for many a year. However, this has changed and was transformed in 2016 into a fabulous “new” function facility, capable of holding ceremonies and receptions of up to 70 people. Sensitively renovated to retain as many of the original features as possible, the Old Chapel now provides an exciting and unique venue for your special day.
" Kim was born in the area and we had driven by it so many times over the years and had no idea that this was such a fabulous place.
We looked at a number of venues including hotels, halls and churches but as soon as we drove up to The Priests House we fell in love with it. It was perfect - exactly what we were looking for. Not wanting a large event, just sixteen people, it was perfect, a totally exclusive venue right in the heart of the Wharf dale valley.
We had a fabulous ceremony and reception. What a day, no words can do it justice. We just felt totally at home. We also rented the Barden Bunk barn on site as well making it into a full weekend break.
Everything was as we had discussed with Debbie, and more besides. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Thanks to Debbie and Mark for making our day so very special. "
